Upper School College Counseling: Guiding Students

Good Hope Country Day School graduates are accepted to the most prestigious universities in the United States and around the world, including UCLA, Harvard, Columbia, Northeastern, Johns Hopkins, UNC Chapel Hill, UPenn, Cornell, the military academies, and St. Andrews. They also participate in gap year experiences in world language immersion, international service organizations and career exploration. Above all, however, our mission is to help students gain admission to colleges, universities and post secondary programs that fit their intellectual and personal interests, abilities, and aspirations.

The guidance and support provided by the Office of College Counseling is integral to the educational mission of the school. The college counseling office is responsible for knowledgeably, professionally, and ethically guiding our students through their post-secondary exploration. Our highest priority is to help students clarify their values, assess their strengths, and identify their goals, providing them and their parents with accurate information and appropriate guidance about colleges, the college admissions process and gap year opportunities.

The College Counseling Handbook provides more in-depth information about the 4-year high school process of college preparation, research and the application process.
