Our GHCDS second graders ROCKED their very first Publishing Party, proudly stepping into the spotlight to share their original small-moment narratives!
These budding authors have been hard at work transforming everyday experiences into engaging stories, using transition words, sensory details, dialogue, and expressive sound words like “BOOM!” and “AWW!” to bring their writing to life!
And the excitement didn't stop at the page! Our young storytellers especially loved practicing their public-speaking skills on the microphone as they shared their creations with classmates, teachers, and administrators.
From developing their writing skills to finding the confidence to share their voices, this celebration was about so much more than finishing a story. It was about creativity, communication, confidence, and the pride of becoming a published author!
