The Virgin Islands Triathlon Federation kicked off its season on Sunday, September 20, with the Wall2Wall Sprint & Try-a-Tri at Cane Bay. It was a hot one, but the sea was calm and crystal clear! Several GHCDS parents, teachers, alumni, and faculty came out to swim, bike, and run the Sprint or Try-a-Tri courses. It’s pretty amazing how much athletic talent we have right here in our GHCDS community!
And the season is just getting started!
October 4 — Great Pumpkin Junior Duathlon at Altona Lagoon
This fun run-bike-run event is for kids ages 5–15 of all abilities. We could use some volunteer help, too! Spread the word, bring your kids, invite a neighbor, and come be part of the fun.
October 18 — Adult Aquathlon at Rainbow Beach
Try the Sprint with an 800-meter swim and 5K run, or give the Super Sprint a go with a 400-meter swim and 1.5-mile run. Two-person relay teams are also welcome!
November 29 — Beauty & The Beast Triathlon at Cramer’s Park
There are several ways to participate, including the Olympic-distance triathlon, Olympic relays, and a Sprint option. Whether you’re ready to tackle the full course or want to try a shorter distance, there’s an option for you.
December 6 — Reindeer Run Half Marathon & 5K at Cane Bay Beach
Get into the holiday spirit with a festive 13.1-mile half marathon or 5K. Race shirts and holiday cheer included!
Congratulations to everyone who participated on Sunday! We’d love to see even more families out there this season, whether you’re racing, volunteering, cheering, or just coming out to give it a try.
Questions? Reach out to Theresa Harper at [email protected] or catch Megan Lambert at school. We hope to see you out there!
