Last Thursday evening, Middle and Upper School families had the opportunity to experience a little bit of life from their students’ perspective during Parent Night.
Parents began the evening with their student’s advisor and then followed an abbreviated version of their student’s daily schedule. Moving from classroom to classroom, families could spend time with each of the teachers their children see throughout the school day.
The evening gave parents an opportunity to put faces to familiar names, meet teachers who are new to GHCDS, ask questions, and learn more about what students are studying and what they can expect from their classes this year. Just as importantly, it allowed families to see the variety of courses, teachers, and learning experiences that make up a student’s day.
Strong schools depend on strong partnerships between students, families, and teachers. Events like Parent Night help build those relationships early in the year and create opportunities for communication before questions or concerns arise.
Thank you to all of the families who joined us and to our faculty for welcoming parents into their classrooms. We look forward to continuing that partnership throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
