The Good Hope Country Day School community is thrilled to welcome Ali Morgan as our new Head of School.
For Ali, this isn't just a new job, it's a homecoming. A proud native son of St. Croix and a member of the Good Hope School’s Class of 1993, Ali grew up on island with deep Crucian roots; his grandfather, Alexander Knight, was born on St. Croix not long after the U.S. purchased the Virgin Islands from Denmark in 1917. Announcing his return during a recent appearance on WTJX's Analyze This, Ali put it simply: "I'm back!"
Ali's path back to Good Hope Country Day School has taken him around the country and back again. After graduating from GHS, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater at Southern Methodist University and later a Master of Science in higher education administration from Baruch College. He spent over a decade, from 2013 to 2024, as director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Rye Country Day School in Westchester, New York, before founding his own consulting firm, ALKM Consulting, which helps schools and organizations strengthen leadership through inclusive practice and community engagement.
He also credits the Good Hope School for sparking a lifelong love of the arts and theater, a passion the school has long nurtured, and one community members can expect to see reflected in continued support for the drama program, following the recent success of the spring musical "Hadestown."
Outgoing interim Head of School Bill Sinfield, who helped lead the search, noted that Ali's blend of professional experience and personal roots in the community made him the clear choice for the role. Board Chairman Bradley Ebersole echoed that sentiment, pointing to Ali's broad experience and inclusive vision as a strong match for the school's mission.
Ali steps into the role at an exciting moment for GHCDS, which became an accredited Cambridge International School in 2023 and just celebrated a Class of 2026 that included eleven Advanced International Certificate of Education Diploma candidates. Looking ahead, Ali has spoken about wanting to build a more cohesive experience for students at every stage of their journey, from early learners to young adults ready to make their mark on the world.
That sense of homecoming is exactly what we hope you'll feel too, because this is an open invitation. Ali's office door is open, and there's nothing that would make the first few weeks better than meeting the families and students who make GHCDS so special. Whether you're dropping off in the morning, picking up in the afternoon, or just in the neighborhood, please stop by and say hi.
Please join us in giving Ali the warm welcome our community is known for. We can't wait to see what the year ahead holds under this new leadership.
Welcome home, Ali. We're so glad you're here.
