On Tuesday, May 26, several outstanding members of the GHCDS Class of 2026 were recognized at the Academic Excellence Reception held in the Government House Ballroom and hosted by Governor Albert Bryan, Jr. and Assistant Commissioner of Education Victor Somme.
The annual celebration honors the highest-achieving graduating seniors from high schools across St. Croix, recognizing their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional academic accomplishments. Students and their families enjoyed an evening of congratulatory remarks, special presentations, commemorative gifts, and academic awards celebrating years of hard work and future aspirations.
GHCDS was especially proud to have five members of the Class of 2026 recognized for achieving the school's highest cumulative GPA of 4.0. This year's honorees were:
Kennedy James
Allison "Lu" Joseph
Maya Prasad
Scott Roth
Anna Simon
Because the GHCDS academic year remains in session, these students were honored for their exceptional academic achievement rather than being designated as valedictorian or salutatorian at this time. Nevertheless, their recognition reflects the highest level of scholarship and commitment to excellence.
We are incredibly proud of these remarkable students and the example they set for their peers. Their achievements represent years of determination, intellectual curiosity, and hard work, and we look forward to celebrating all they will accomplish in the future.
Congratulations to our top scholars on this well-deserved honor!
