A Time-Honored Tradition: GHCDS Celebrates the Senior Pinning Ceremony

Today marked one of the most meaningful and cherished traditions at GHCDS—the annual Senior Pinning Ceremony, a heartfelt rite of passage witnessed by proud parents, faculty, staff, and loved ones gathered together in the Pavilion.

Filled with both tears and cheers, the ceremony honored the members of the Class of 2026 as dedicated teachers shared deeply personal reflections, favorite memories, words of encouragement, and touching tributes to each senior. More than simply a farewell, the Senior Pinning Ceremony serves as a celebration of growth, resilience, friendship, and the unique journeys each student has taken throughout their years at GHCDS.

As part of this longstanding tradition, every tribute was thoughtfully crafted to remind students not only of their accomplishments, but also of the small and often-forgotten moments that helped shape them into the young adults they are today—the quiet triumphs, the challenges overcome, the laughter shared, and the relationships built along the way.

The presence of families and loved ones made the occasion even more special, as parents had the opportunity to witness the profound impact that teachers, mentors, classmates, and the GHCDS community have had on their children’s lives. Moments like these beautifully reflect the close-knit nature of the GHCDS family and the deep bonds formed between students and faculty over the years.

To our remarkable seniors—congratulations on reaching this milestone. Your journeys have inspired us, and we are so proud of all you have become.

And to our extraordinary teachers—thank you for the unwavering support, compassion, wisdom, and encouragement you pour into your students every single day. The lasting impact of your guidance was felt profoundly throughout today’s ceremony.
