Building Future Entrepreneurs: GHCDS Students Learn from UVI Business Expert

Last week, GHCDS strengthened its partnership with the University of the Virgin Islands School of Business through an engaging entrepreneurial lecture delivered by Dr. Paul Flemming, Head of the UVI School of Business, for members of the Business and Entrepreneurship Club.

Dr. Flemming, an accomplished business leader with expertise in business administration, public administration, and economic development, shared valuable insights from his leadership roles at the university and in the broader community. Students learned about his experiences serving as Interim Dean of the UVI School of Business, Director of the Management and Marketing Department, Professor of Management, Director and Chair of the Graduate Business Studies MBA Program, and Director of the Entrepreneur Business Institute.

During the session, Dr. Flemming discussed the important role entrepreneurs play in the local economy, highlighting the Entrepreneur Business Institute, a free, immersive summer program he leads that teaches local high school students about business management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing club members to interact directly with a business professional and gain deeper insight into modern business practices and entrepreneurship.

The Business and Entrepreneurship Club extends its gratitude to Dr. Flemming for sharing his time, experiences, and encouragement with our students. His visit provided a valuable perspective and inspiration that will help grow our members' entrepreneurial mindsets.

GHCDS looks forward to continuing to cultivate our partnership with the University of the Virgin Islands through future collaborative opportunities and initiatives.
