GHCDS Students Reach New Milestones in Cambridge Achievement

As the year draws to a close, GHCDS is proud to celebrate the successful completion of another outstanding Cambridge examination season—our largest and most ambitious in our 3 years. This year, 73 students sat for an impressive 160 exams, reflecting both the growth of our academic programs and the dedication of our students and faculty.

One of the most exciting milestones this year was the expansion of our Advanced Level (A Level) offerings. Last year, the school administered just one A Level examination. This year, our students completed 5 different A Level exams, with over half pursued through independent study. This achievement highlights the initiative, discipline, and intellectual curiosity of our students, as well as the support and mentorship provided by our teachers.

Cambridge exams provide students with internationally recognized qualifications that strengthen university applications around the world and, in many cases, allow students to earn college credit before graduating high school. These rigorous programs challenge students to think critically, work independently, and engage deeply with their chosen subjects.

We are also especially proud to celebrate our inaugural class of seniors working toward the prestigious AICE Diploma. To earn this distinction, students must successfully complete at least seven Cambridge examinations across four different subject areas. This accomplishment represents an exceptional level of academic commitment and achievement and marks an important step forward in the continued growth of Cambridge programming at GHCDS. These students are:

  • Ayden Cintron
  • Allegra Ferreras
  • Kennedy James
  • Isabelle Langley
  • Vedant Mittal
  • Maya Prasad
  • Elias Ruderfer
  • Quinn Sayre
  • Anna Simon
  • Asia Williams
  • Israel Wyche

Congratulations to all of our students and teachers for a remarkable exam season and for continuing to raise the standard of academic excellence at our school.

Next week, there will be a virtual parent meeting for parents to learn about the Cambridge program and AICE Diploma options here at GHCDS.  Please plan to join Mrs. Velez-Wyche via Zoom on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 6:00 pm. You can join by clicking on this link:
