A moment of excellence, pride, and powerful student voice.
Good Hope Country Day School is beyond proud to celebrate an incredible achievement at the Black History Month Essay Competition held at the American Legion in Christiansted.
Our students delivered nothing short of excellence. Tristan Samuel earned a top award for his outstanding essay, demonstrating remarkable depth, clarity, and impact. Saidah Banwaree was recognized with an Honorable Mention, a testament to her thoughtful perspective and strong writing.
This unforgettable event placed our students among distinguished leaders, where they had the honor of meeting Deborah Y. Francis-Howell, who personally presented them with Coins of Excellence from her own collection, a powerful and symbolic recognition of their achievement. They also received official certificates from Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, further highlighting the significance of this moment.
In their remarks, both students expressed heartfelt gratitude and proudly acknowledged Good Hope Country Day School and Ms. Adel for their support and guidance.
This was more than a competition; it was a celebration of voice, identity, and excellence. Our students rose to the occasion and represented our school with confidence, intelligence, and grace.
We could not be more proud.
