Panthers in Action: Learning, Leading, and Giving Back

Panther Pride was on full display last week as GHCDS officially launched the Community Enrichment Program—a dynamic, student-led initiative spearheaded by Nick Crikelair and engaging students across Middle and Upper School.

Rooted in experiential learning and the Cambridge curriculum, this program challenges students to move beyond the classroom and apply their learning in meaningful, real-world ways. Through service, collaboration, and reflection, students are building the critical thinking, communication, and global awareness skills that define a Cambridge education.

The Class of 2027 led the way by strengthening its partnership with the Lighthouse Mission of St. Croix, a faith-based nonprofit in Christiansted dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need. Building on their social media awareness campaign, students rolled up their sleeves and got to work—revitalizing the mission’s garden, transporting materials, and preparing the space for future use.

In addition to their hands-on service, students toured the facility, gaining valuable insight into the daily operations of a nonprofit organization. They witnessed firsthand how staff and volunteers work together to provide essential services and support to the community.

The experience was both impactful and inspiring. Students were especially moved by the passion and gratitude shared by Lighthouse Mission Director Cornelius Evans, reinforcing the importance of empathy, service, and community connection.

This is Cambridge learning in action—students asking questions, engaging with real-world challenges, and reflecting on their role as active, responsible citizens. The Class of 2027 looks forward to continuing this meaningful partnership and expanding their impact in the coming school year.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Lighthouse Mission of St. Croix for their partnership and to the generous community members who made this experience possible through their support of student transportation.

Panthers are not just learning—they are making a difference.
