Panthers in Action: Class of 2028 Leads the Way in Community Learning

The Class of 2028 is bringing Panther Pride beyond the classroom through the newly launched GHCDS Community Enrichment Program—a student-led initiative spearheaded by junior Nick Crikelair that is already making a meaningful impact across St. Croix.

As part of this exciting program, our 10th graders partnered with the St. Croix Landmarks Society, an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history and culture of our island. In alignment with their focus on cultural preservation and global awareness, students visited the historic Estate Whim Museum, where they participated in an engaging workshop and guided tour that brought the past to life.

This hands-on experience is a powerful example of the Cambridge curriculum in action—moving learning beyond textbooks and into the real world. Students explored history through inquiry, made connections between past and present, and deepened their understanding of the role cultural preservation plays in shaping identity and community. Most importantly, they began to see themselves as active participants in preserving and sharing St. Croix’s story.

Armed with new knowledge and resources from the Landmarks Society, the Class of 2028 is already looking ahead—planning ways to raise awareness, engage the community, and continue building this important partnership. These Panthers are not just learning about history—they are becoming the next generation of cultural ambassadors for St. Croix.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the St. Croix Landmarks Society for their partnership and to our generous donors who made this experience possible through their support of student transportation and programming.
