GHCDS Alum Inspires the Next Generation of Innovators

GHCDS alum Wyatt Bracy '23 and his fellow Computer Science majors from Northeastern University visited Mr. Chapman's 6th‑grade computer class. The theme of their presentation was “What’s possible because of our dedication to education.” Wyatt, Sekou, Brady, Nate, Atharva, and Haylie shared their experiences building electric formula‑style race cars, exploring the value of intuitive, thoughtful design in user experience (UX) and product management, creating virtual reality applications, and completing software development and data analytics internships at Microsoft, Bose, and Verizon.

They emphasized how essential math and science concepts are in technology careers and explained how taking Georgia Tech’s Intro to Python course and Harvard’s free CS50 online course in high school prepared them for their first year of college. Students were highly engaged and asked questions ranging from starting salaries in computer science to why Fortnite latency occurs.

We are grateful to Wyatt and his peers for exposing our students to careers in technology.
