Several Good Hope Country Day School student-athletes delivered outstanding performances at the 19th Annual TBAY Gasparilla Swim Meet in Tampa, Florida.
Seniors Daryan Maynard and Lu Joseph each captured High Point Champion honors for their respective age groups and for the overall meet — an exceptional achievement in a highly competitive field.
Daryan Maynard (67 points) earned first place finishes in the 400 IM, 100 Butterfly (personal best), 200 Freestyle, 200 Butterfly (personal best), 100 Backstroke, and 500 Freestyle, along with a second place finish in the 200 IM.
Lu Joseph (63 points) placed first in the 100 IM (personal best), 100 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, and 100 Backstroke. She also earned second in the 50 Backstroke and third in the 50 Butterfly.
Sawyer Holley (54 points) placed second overall in his age group, winning the 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke (personal best), and 200 Freestyle. He also placed second in the 100 IM and 50 Breaststroke.
Diella Maynard (53 points) placed second overall in her age group, highlighted by first place finishes in the 1650 Freestyle, 200 IM (personal best), and 500 Freestyle (personal best). She also earned second in the 200 Backstroke (personal best) and third in the 200 Freestyle (personal best) and 50 Freestyle.
Nicholas Crikelair (39 points) added strong performances with second place finishes in the 50 Butterfly (personal best), 50 Breaststroke, and 100 Breaststroke, along with third place finishes in the 50 Backstroke (personal best), 50 Freestyle, and 100 Freestyle.
In addition to competing, the students had the opportunity to visit the University of Tampa, gaining valuable exposure to collegiate athletics and academics.
We are proud of these student-athletes for representing the St. Croix Dolphins and GHCDS with excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship both in and out of the pool.
