The St. Croix Scenic 50K took place on Sunday, January 18, and it was inspiring to see such a strong showing from the GHCDS community. Teachers, coaches, students, and alumni all took part—whether by conquering the full 50K distance, racing as part of a 2–3 person relay team, or volunteering along the course to support runners throughout the day.
Known for both its beauty and its challenge, the Scenic 50K features a demanding mix of terrain: approximately 25% road, 25% single-track trail, and 50% jeep trail. Along the way, runners are rewarded with unforgettable views—a glowing sunrise over the water, rolling hills, lush jungle canopies, and sweeping vistas of both the North and West Shorelines—before crossing the finish line at Cane Bay Beach.
Consistently ranked as the #1 ultra-distance race in the Caribbean, the Scenic 50K truly lives up to its name. Mark your calendars for next January—we hope to see even more Panthers out on the course next year!
