Happy New Year GHCDS families!
I hope all our Panthers have enjoyed their very long break! The track and basketball season starts next week! Respective jerseys will be handed out on Wednesday-Friday (see below). Please note that all families must pay their participation fee at the front office before receiving their jersey. Participation fees help cover the costs of referees and transportation. $50 for basketball and $30 for track and field:
- JV Boys - Wednesday at 12:35 pm
- MS Boys - Wednesday at 1:00 pm
- LS Girls - Thursday at 12:15 pm
- LS Boys - Thursday at 12:35 pm
- MS Girls - Thursday at 1:00 pm
- Track & Field - Friday at 12:35 pm
Player Attendance
Coaches have expressed concerns over the consistency with which players have been attending practice. Players who miss repeated practices will severely impact their play time and/or will be excused from the team. Families are expected to communicate with coaches whenever a student will miss a practice or a game. If a student is injured, they are still expected to attend all games and practices.

Panther of the Week
The Panther(s) of the Week is reserved for a(n) GHCDS athlete(s) who excelled in performance or sportsmanship during the week. This week, it goes to senior, Ayden Cintron. Ayden qualified to represent the US Virgin Islands at the CARIFTA Games in the 5K after his first-place finish of 14:28 in the Reindeer Run. Ayden is also a member of the varsity basketball team. Congratulations Ayden!
