Origin Story:
Since joining GHCDS in the spring of 2023, Jayar Greenidge has been the spark that connects students across generations and grade levels — from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Whether he’s exploring ancient civilizations, uncovering Virgin Islands history, or helping students spot media bias, Jayar brings the past and present together in ways that make learning feel alive.
His power of Curiosity fuels every lesson he teaches. Jayar’s questions make students think deeper, his energy draws them in, and his genuine care reminds them that their voices matter. He believes that every child learns best when they feel seen, supported, and free to be themselves — a philosophy that shines in every corner of his classroom.
For Jayar, the GHCDS “family vibe” is what makes the magic happen. He loves collaborating with colleagues, trading ideas, and watching students grow into confident, independent thinkers who are comfortable in their own skin.
Fun Fact:
A self-proclaimed Star Wars superfan, Jayar says he relates most to the Jedi — always curious, always learning, and always guided by connection to those around him.
