Our curious sixth grade scientists dove into their new unit on forces and gravity with a hands-on investigation that brought physics to life!
Armed with spring scales, students moved around the classroom measuring the weight of everyday objects in Newtons—and discovering that science is even more fun when you get to do it yourself.
As they compared measurements and tested different items, they began unraveling one of the trickier concepts in physics: the difference between mass and weight. Through experimentation, teamwork, and lots of “aha!” moments, these young learners made meaningful connections that will serve them throughout their study of force, motion, and beyond.
Here’s to inquiry, discovery, and the joy of hands-on learning!
