Something spooky (and a little bit science-y!) was happening in Pre-K this week! Our young GHCDS scientists gathered around a mysterious orange visitor—a big, bumpy pumpkin—to explore its secrets. Using their super observation skills, they touched its rough skin, smelled its earthy scent, and even gave it a gentle tap to hear the hollow “thunk!” echo from inside.
Together, we talked about its color, shape, size, weight, and texture—trying to guess what might be hiding within. Then came the most exciting part: a special visit from Ms. Joeana Dongar, our Lower School Art Teacher, who arrived with her carving tools in hand! With careful cuts (and maybe a little Halloween magic), she transformed our ordinary pumpkin into a glowing jack-o’-lantern friend!
The classroom filled with gasps and giggles as our pumpkin came to life—proof that science, art, and a touch of spooky fun make the perfect Pre-K adventure!
