GHCDS Students Shine at Bush Cook 2025

This year’s Bush Cook was an unforgettable experience, and our Good Hope Country Day School team truly made us proud. Despite the mud and heat, our students persevered with energy, teamwork, and determination, delivering a strong performance that highlighted both skill and spirit.

Our student chefs, Aiden Lear, Cuyler Roberts, Kyanna Cherubin, and Lily Daley, worked tirelessly from start to finish. Aiden balanced athletic precision with culinary creativity. Cuyler’s diligence ensured that every detail was in place. Kyanna’s quick work and focus on hygiene kept our station spotless and professional. Lily dedicated hours to perfecting our desserts with patience and care. Together, they presented each dish with confidence, explained the ingredients, and showcased how much of our menu was locally sourced. Even when faced with challenges, like a syrup boil over, they adapted with grace and good humor.

The GHCDS menu included:

• Watermelon and Halloumi Cubes, a refreshing sweet and savory starter

• Lamb and Rice with Nuts, Golden Raisins, and Warm Arabic Spices, a flavorful traditional main dish

• Phyllo Bites with Passion Guava Syrup and Pistachios, a delicate dessert crafted with care

• Mango Chili Passionfruit Mocktail, a bright and refreshing drink to complement the meal

We are deeply grateful to the parents who supported us, especially Jessica, Jenn, Jill, and Tyson, for their constant encouragement and presence throughout the day. Special thanks also go to our administrators and colleagues Alice, Vanessa, and Mr. Sinfield for cheering us on, and a huge thank you to Elijah for coming early to help us start the day smoothly as well donating our shirts for the event!

Bush Cook 2025 was about more than just food. It was a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and community spirit. Our students left the event with not only new skills but also lasting memories of working together to represent GHCDS with pride.
