The Upper Division wrapped up Hispanic Heritage Month with an exciting and colorful celebration! The program, hosted by the talented members of the Public Speaking Club—Nicholas, Vedant, Scott, Daryan, Asia, and Olivia—featured an engaging mix of music, dance, culture, and fun.
The assembly began with a lively parade of Vejigantes created by the art class, setting a festive tone for the morning. Students then participated in a spirited Kahoot trivia game on Hispanic culture, where every advisory competed for extra points and plenty of bragging rights!
Performances followed, showcasing the incredible talent of our Spanish students:
-
“Cuando nos volvamos a encontrar” by Carlos Vives, performed by Spanish 4-2.
-
“Como la flor” by Maya Prasad.
-
A dynamic rap performance of “Stay Alive” from Hamilton, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, performed by Anna S., Asia, and Aidan.
-
A vibrant “Bailando Bachata” dance by Spanish 4-1.
-
“Un año” by Sebastián Yatra, performed by both Spanish 3 classes.
The celebration concluded with a delicious Hispanic Country Food Fair, where each Middle and Upper School advisory presented a traditional dish and an informative poster representing a Hispanic country. It was a wonderful way to honor the beauty, diversity, and richness of Hispanic culture!
