Our Path Forward: GHCDS Head of School Search Committee

October, 2025

Dear GHCDS Community:

Following an extensive recruitment and vetting process the GHCDS HOS Search Committee is pleased to announce that three finalist candidates have been identified and are scheduled to visit Good Hope Country Day School in the next two weeks.

These visits, as outlined in the attached schedule of activities, are designed to engage the candidates with our various constituents including faculty, staff, parents, children and the Board of Trustees.  Each session will provide a process and opportunity for participants to share their impressions of the candidates, which will be reviewed by the Board as they make this critical determination of who will lead GHCDS into the future.

The third candidate, Mr. Ali Morgan will be with us on October 16 and 17.  We encourage everyone to attend their appropriate session and share their thoughts. A bio for Mr. Morgan is here for your review.

We encourage everyone to participate in this very important process.

Sincerely,

GHCDS HOS Search Committee

Ali Morgan Bio

Ali Morgan is an accomplished educational leader and consultant whose two decades of experience reflect a deep commitment to student-centered education, community building, and institutional transformation. As Founder and Principal of ALKM Consulting, he partners with schools and organizations across the country to strengthen leadership through empathy, inclusive recruitment and retention, social-emotional learning, and cultural competency. His work focuses on creating systems that align vision with practice—whether by developing DEI-infused enrollment strategies, leading executive coaching programs, or facilitating workshops on community engagement and crisis management.

Prior to starting ALKM Consulting, Ali served at Rye Country Day School from 2013 to 2024 as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Director of Fellowship Programs. In his role, Ali advanced strategic initiatives that deepened belonging and broadened representation across all aspects of school life. He partnered with admissions, curriculum, and advancement leaders to ensure inclusive practices and built mentoring programs that supported both students and employees of color. A skilled collaborator with boards and senior leadership, he also led hiring and retention efforts, managed complex community challenges, and helped guide the school through the dual pandemics of COVID-19 and social unrest. His leadership extended beyond the school walls through his role as a regional network leader for more than fifty DEI practitioners in independent schools.

Ali’s earlier career in higher education administration—including leadership roles within the City University of New York system and as Director of Student Financial Assistance at SUNY's Westchester Community College—provides him with strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and a systemic understanding of access and
affordability. As an alum of Good Hope School, Class of 1993, a former drama teacher, humanities instructor, and tennis coach, he deeply understands St. Croix and brings a creative, relational, and joyful approach to leadership. Ali’s broad experience, inclusive vision, and strategic mindset align powerfully with Good Hope Country Day School’s mission to cultivate reflective, creative, and compassionate learners within a diverse and globally engaged community.
