Our Path Forward: GHCDS Head of School Search Committee

October, 2025

Dear GHCDS Community:

Following an extensive recruitment and vetting process the GHCDS HOS Search Committee is pleased to announce that three finalist candidates have been identified and are scheduled to visit Good Hope Country Day School in the next two weeks.

These visits, as outlined in the attached schedule of activities, are designed to engage the candidates with our various constituents including faculty, staff, parents, children and the Board of Trustees.  Each session will provide a process and opportunity for participants to share their impressions of the candidates, which will be reviewed by the Board as they make this critical determination of who will lead GHCDS into the future.

The second candidate, Dr. Shants N. Hart will be with us on October 14 and 15.  We encourage everyone to attend their appropriate session and share their thoughts. A bio for Dr. Hart is here for your review.

We encourage everyone to participate in this very important process.

Sincerely,

GHCDS HOS Search Committee

Dr. Shants N. Hart

Dr. Shants N. Hart is a seasoned and passionate educational leader with more than two decades of experience across independent and public schools. She began her career in public education before moving into independent schools, where she has held a wide range of leadership positions including Associate Head of School for Day-to-Day Operations, Associate Head of School for External Affairs, Director of Admissions, Director of Middle School, English Department Chair, and English Teacher at a prominent PreK–12 institution. In these roles, she has overseen academic programs, enrollment strategy, faculty development, community partnerships, and daily school operations. She led the COVID-19 Return to School Task Force, and she approaches leadership with intentionality and care, creating an inclusive, joyful, and student-centered learning environment.

Most recently, Dr.Hart brought her expertise to Indiana’s largest healthcare system, where she sharpened her strategic operations skills, led initiatives at scale, and deepened her work in people and culture leadership, demonstrating further evidence of her ability to align organizational vision with strategy and impact.

She holds a doctorate in Educational Policy and Leadership from Vanderbilt University, a master’s degree in Education Administration from Butler University, and a bachelor’s degree in English and Education. Her professional work is grounded in equity, community building, and the belief that schools are most successful when every child is known, challenged, and inspired.

Dr. Hart and her husband of more than 30 years, Shaun - a native of St. Croix - are the proud parents of three children who are all independent school alumni. Though they made their home in Fishers, Indiana, St. Croix has been an enormous part of their children’s upbringing, and the family deeply embraces their Crucian roots. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she is currently writing her first book. As an unabashed Francophile, Dr. Hart also loves to travel - especially to France - and most enjoys spending time with her family.
