Learning to Feel: Fourth Graders Explore the Zones of Regulation

At the counseling office, we believe that true learning goes beyond textbooks. Recently, students in the 4th grade were given an Social Emotional L earning Lesson on the Zones of Regulation. Students were able to identify different emotions through pictures, and playing games in groups. By participating in these projects, students not only understand their emotions better—they also develop coping mechanisms to practice in the future. It doesn’t just stop there, every class has the opportunity to patriciate in SEL lessons to explore, create, and apply knowledge in real-world scenarios. Whether it’s designing experiments, developing presentations, or collaborating on innovative solutions, our students gain practical skills that build confidence, critical thinking, and teamwork.
