Celebrating Hispanic Heritage in the Early Learning Center

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15–Oct. 15), our Early Learning Center Panthers celebrated the richness of Hispanic culture through stories, songs, dancing, art, and a special guest visit.

We were delighted to welcome Mrs. Olga Capriola, GHCDS Upper School Spanish teacher, who shared her knowledge and enthusiasm with our youngest learners. Mrs. Capriola introduced the children to traditional Latin dance steps, and the room was quickly filled with music, movement, and laughter as the students danced alongside her.

The celebration continued with the story Frida Kahlo and Her Animalitos, which introduced students to the life and art of one of Mexico’s most iconic artists. Inspired by Frida’s creativity, our young Panthers then painted their own portraits of her, adding their own unique touches.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to recognize and honor the diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. At GHCDS, we are proud to introduce our students to these stories and experiences from an early age, helping them grow in appreciation of the vibrant world around them.
