At last week’s Lower School Friday Gathering, Maya Prasad ’26 delivered a powerful and interactive presentation on her initiative to make GHCDS free from single-use plastic utensils. Maya explained the environmental and community impact of disposable forks and spoons, challenging our younger Panthers to think about how small changes—like carrying a reusable utensil—can make a big difference for the planet.
To keep the students engaged, Maya turned her talk into a fun and memorable experience. After the audience answered key questions about plastic pollution, she wowed everyone by walking across the stage on her hands—a perfect reminder that learning can be exciting, dynamic, and inspiring!
Thank you, Maya, for using your voice, creativity, and leadership to remind our community that together, we can protect our earth—one reusable utensil at a time.
