Panther Pride in Action: How the Parents Association Funds Are Transforming GHCDS

Get excited Panthers!  The GHCDS annual fun run officially kicks off next week with a pep rally for the students scheduled on September 22nd.  This year money raised will be spread across multiple projects that are under review and discussion. The fun run is scheduled on October 2nd (ELC and lower school) and October 3rd (middle and upper school).

The Parents Association is excited to share how money raised prior year benefited our school in many ways as funds were spread across diverse and impactful projects:
  • Upper school outdoor lunch space - students are enjoying the beautiful new space and the social and emotional benefits.
  • Vending machine for the gym - this investment will pay for itself in a short period of time and bring in additional revenue for the athletics department.
  • Dedicated PA storage container - The prior storage container was in poor condition and we now have a quality container for storing important items.
  • Classroom renovations - completion of new floors for 6 classrooms
  • Outdoor pavilion awnings - Purchased in collaboration with Eleven Construction, architect Renee D'adamo, and the Parents Association. A newly poured patio has brought the pavilion up to date with ADA compliance, allowing access for all. The awnings will be installed so that students can use this space as an additional gathering place, an outdoor stage, and also for protection for both students and theatre patrons from the elements.
Additional fun run communication will be coming out soon so stay tuned!
