We are excited to welcome Thea D’Eramo to the Upper School faculty at GHCDS as a Language Arts teacher.
Thea’s passion lies in English literature, both academically and personally. She earned a BA in English and Mathematics (as a supplementary major) from the University of Notre Dame in 2022 (Go Irish!) and spent much of her time tutoring students in writing and math skills both during and after college.
After graduation, Thea gained extensive classroom experience through the U.S. State Department’s Fulbright program. For two years, she lived in the Republic of Korea and taught English as a Foreign Language at the prestigious Gyeongnam Science High School. A large part of her success in the classroom came from her constant encouragement for students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and persist in their learning. She also emphasizes giving individual students the attention they need to fully engage and succeed — an approach she now brings to her work at GHCDS.
Beyond the classroom, Thea enjoys crafts, books, and playing tennis, a sport she began at Beeston Hill when she was just five years old. Raised on St. Croix, Thea attended Country Day School from 4th–9th grade and later graduated from GHCDS, class of 2017. Returning as an educator is, in her words, “an amazing opportunity,” and she is honored to rejoin the Panther community.
