HEAD OF SCHOOL SEARCH - UPDATE 5.16.25

The process for identifying the next Head of School has officially begun.  Along with contracting the services of Carney Sandoe and Associates (CS&A), the Search Committee has participated in an orientation, and an official Position Description, developed with input from parents, faculty and staff, the Board of Trustees, and students, has been approved.  This Position Description will be used by CS&A to recruit locally, domestically and internationally.

The recruiting process has started and will continue throughout the summer. Beginning in early Fall the Search Committee will be vetting and interviewing semi-finalist candidates and will eventually be recommending three or four finalists who will be invited to GHCDS to meet with all constituencies, as well as interview in person with the Search Committee and the Board of Trustees.  The Search Committee may send forward two or three candidates with identified strengths and weaknesses for the Board to deliberate and make an offer of employment as the next Head of School. We anticipate this to occur in November.  A transition process is scheduled for the Spring of 2026 so the individual is ready to hit the ground running come July 1st.

A website is being created which will post the Position Description, a timeline for the search, and a list of the representative members of the Search Committee.  Throughout the process the identity of the candidates remains strictly confidential until they are selected to become finalists.

Should someone feel they know a qualified individual, please share that information or suggest that they contact Mr. Bill Sinfield (Search Committee Co-Chairperson) or myself and we will be certain they are informed about the process.  Again, all nominations will remain confidential.

The minimum requirements for the position are a master’s degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university, and five years of senior level experience.  Beyond the stated minimum requirements, the Position Description identifies the many leadership and personal characteristics expected.  We are anticipating that many highly qualified individuals will express interest in working at GHCDS as the Head of School.

As the process evolves, we will keep the GHCDS community informed.  Any questions or referrals may be directed to Mr. Sinfield [email protected], or myself at [email protected]

We are very hopeful that we will find the right individual to lead GHCDS in the future.

Sincerely, Bradley Ebersole, Ph.D ,

GHCDS Board Chair, Co-Chair HOS Search Committee
