This year, we're putting a twist on the annual Alumni Soccer Match. We're going to have 4 teams, CDS Alumni, GHS Alumni, GHCDS Alumni, and the Varsity Soccer Team in a single elimination small small-sided 7v7 tournament! Kick off is on Monday, 6/2 at 5:30 pm at the GHCDS Soccer Field!
Panther of the Week
The Panther(s) of the Week is reserved for a GHCDS athlete who excelled in performance or sportsmanship during the week. This week, it goes to Kenny Nguyen and Thomas Bugg.
Kenny is the goalie of the JV Soccer team. In the 8 games played this season, Kenny only gave up 7 goals, compared to the 41 goals the JV team scored. His amazing saves and shutout performance in Tuesday's championship game were instrumental in their 1-0 victory.
Thomas Bugg is the only senior on this year's varsity soccer team. His veteran leadership and dominating presence in the backfield thwarted many scoring attempts by the Central High School Caribs in yesterday's championship game. Thomas also scored a penalty kick in the first half, tying the game and reigniting the Panther team, which led to their 2-1 victory.
