This week, our fifth graders combined creativity and science by making sundials out of paper plates! As part of our Earth and Space unit, students explored how the position of the sun and the movement of Earth create shadows—and how people have used those shadows to tell time for centuries. It was a hands-on, sunny-day science experience!
Earlier that morning, students had some extra fun with wacky hairdos, adding a little laughter and personality to our learning environment. We're also diving deep into our Fantasy Book Club novels, and it’s a joy to see students reading, discussing, and connecting with their stories in small groups across our beautiful campus.
Science, stories, and sunshine—fifth grade is thriving!
